The Life Journal readings for the last couple days have had us in Genesis and the story of Joseph. No matter how many times I read this story I am amazed at Joseph's integrity, resolve, and trust in God. No matter what happened to him from his brother's throwing him in a pit and selling him into slavery, to having being wrongfully accused of rape, to being forgotten in prison by someone who promised not to forget him; through it all Joseph just kept on giving his best and trusting God. He worked himself up to second in command in Potipher's house, then did a similar thing in prison, eventually to be made second only to Pharaoh himself in all the nation of Egypt. Sometimes we can be so tempted to just throw our hands up in the midst of a difficult situation and say, "I don't deserve this, forget it." But, it is at moments like that our trust and faith in God is most put to the test. Can I trust that God is in control and if I honor Him even in difficult situations that He will see end at some point reward me, even if it is not in this world?
Trust like Joseph
