Jim and Ester Mazurek:

We live in Santiago, the capital of Chile, S. America. We carry out most of our ministry in Santiago, but also do ministry throughout the nation. Jim's ministry as a teacher in the Latin American Advanced School of Theology (LAAST) enables him to serve in all 18 Spanish-speaking nations of America, including Cuba.

CHILDREN: Ester is founder and director of the World of Our Invisible Friend Club, a children's outreach ministry that has grown significantly. We conduct evangelistic and discipleship ministries for children every week.

MINISTERS: Jim's primary area of ministry is ministerial training. He teaches at the AG Center for Theological Studies in Santiago, and through LAAST teaches pastors in advanced ministerial training seminars.

We have several types of children’s outreach: weekly television ministry, production of cassettes and CDs with new Christian music for kids, hospital, school, orphanage, AIDs clinic visitation teams, and street witnessing. Every Saturday we hold kids Bible club type activities with hot lunches, games, arts and crafts, Bible studies, worship. There are activities as well for teens, moms and dads. On Sundays we hold regular church services at the children’s ministries center.

We have people attending our ministry whom the Lord has saved from alcoholism, family violence, drugs, suicide attempts, etc. For example, we met a nine year old girl, named Ester, in 1999. She was no longer in school, had been repeatedly raped since age 5, sent by her alcoholic dad to work. A very confused, shy, awkward child. The bottom line is, she found the Lord at our ministry, has been baptized in water and in the Holy Spirit. With the help of our wonderful staff, they got her back up to speed with her studies and back in school. She just finished the eleventh grade as the top student in her class. She wants to study nutrition and food services and work as a permanent staff member in our ministry.

We have ongoing discipleship training in our children’s ministries center. In fact, every member of our church has a job description. We do not believe in passive church membership. All of our members are involved in ministry in one form or another. Through the Bible school and LAAST, Jim is training new pastors and perfecting the training of active pastors.

Please pray for these two areas of ministry. We are right now at the groundbreaking stage of the construction of the Santiago Childrens Ministries Outreach Center. We need your prayers and support for this great project. Construction of this complex – a church, a school, and offices for several children’s outreaches will continue through 2006, 2007, and 2008. We invite you to come with a MAPS team and assist in the construction of these facilities.
