“I want women to come and get spoken to and I want them to walk away changed and have some sort of a lasting impact,” added Alana. “I want it to be a time where they are really hearing from the Lord. The goal is to have a real purpose with the message beyond socializing. And I try to keep the costs very very low.”
One result of the women’s ministry gatherings is seeing the community of women grow stronger at Mount Hope, which Alana finds encouraging.
“I get phone calls from people to add tables to an event at the last minute,” said Alana. “When that happens I just feel like it was confirmation that He still wants things spoken, and He will bring the people. Getting the feedback of how God spoke very specifically to women has grown my faith so much. I feel like doing this it makes me feel close to God - I’ve done things on faith and God has always turned it around.”
Volunteer needs
The Refresh Women’s ministry is looking for help from creative people, as well as people who are willing to do administrative and public relations work. The ministry is also in need of younger women who are willing to reach out to the 20 somethings.
The next ministry events are the women’s retreat November 4th through November 6th, the Cookie Swap on December 13th, and there will be another event sometime in March of 2012. In May there is the Mother’s Day Tea event which emphasizes the importance of motherhood, and that everyone is a mother to someone.
If you have a heart for seeing women grow and want to get involved, or if you have suggestions, please email Alana at Alana@stubblebinecompany.com.
